Bryan Adams Wants You to Go Vegan!
Are you ready to rock? You better be – because Bryan Adams is back in India with a brand-new album! Always one to speak "Straight From the Heart" when it comes to animals, check out what the Canadian crooner has to say about why he is a vegan in this exclusive PETA India interview.
Q: Please tell us why you think it's important to get involved with animal rights.A: If you love animals, don't eat them.
Q: How long have you been vegetarian?A: I've been vegetarian since 1988, but I stopped eating dairy long before I became vegetarian. However, I'm not a strict vegan, but it's how I live my life 99 per cent of the time.
Q: How does being vegan make you feel physically?A: If you decide to change your life and stop eating all kinds of animal products, you will inevitably see a change. The most profound change I ever saw in myself was when I ate only raw food for a year and half. Nothing cooked, nothing animal or fish. Aside from losing weight (which I didn't have), it was the best I'd ever felt. I've incorporated some cooked food back into my diet, but my regime is still about 70 per cent fruit and salad and nuts every day.
Q: Please tell us your views on wearing leather.A: I don't buy leather products, but I still have a few ancient leather jackets from my past in the closet that were on my album covers – and the old boots to match.
Q: What is your favourite Indian food?A: Vegetable tandoori. Broccoli cooked in a tandoor oven. Incredible.
You've always liked Bryan Adam's videos, right? Well, you'll love this vegan testimonial video!
In the video, the rocker tells PETA about his journey towards a vegan lifestyle. "I started to understand what was going on with the treatment of animals", says Adams, whose classic singles include "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You", "Run to You" and "Summer of '69". "It led me more and more [to] the path I'm on now – which is, I'm a complete vegan. A lot of animals live very terrible lives on factory farms. I choose to stand against this cruelty. I hope you'll join me."
We hope that you'll join him too – by pledging to go vegan today! If you want to help animals and the environment – while also staying healthy and looking rock-star hot – please take the 30-day pledge to be vegan.
Pledge to Go Vegan!I promise to go vegan for at least 30 days because I want to help animals and the environment as well as look and feel my best.
