Kate Winslet Reveals Torment Behind Foie Gras

Oscar winner Kate Winslet is following in the footsteps of other great actors such as Sir Roger Moore by calling for restaurants and other retailers in India and around the world to stop selling foie gras. She narrates this exclusive video, which reveals undercover investigation footage of the cruelty endured by ducks and geese used for the "delicacy of despair".

Foie gras, which literally translates to "fatty liver", is made from the engorged livers of ducks and geese. As Kate explains, "To produce foie gras, ducks and geese are force-fed enormous amounts of grain and fat, which causes their livers to swell to many times the normal size". Feeding pipes that are jammed into the birds often puncture their throats, which can cause severe tissue damage and internal bleeding. Watch Kate's video to see the truth behind foie gras production.

If you notice any restaurant or other retailer selling foie gras, inform PETA and let the retailer know why it should stop.

Help Kate and PETA spread the word that foie gras is a recipe for torment, and take the "No Foie Gras" pledge!

I, the undersigned, pledge never to purchase or eat foie gras. I believe that the force-feeding of ducks and geese to enlarge their livers for consumption is extremely cruel. Foie gras is a recipe for torment, and I refuse to support an industry that causes countless animals pain and suffering.
