Help End Cruel Animal Testing
Every year, countless rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, rats and other animals are poisoned, blinded and killed in archaic and ineffective product tests for shampoos, cosmetics, hairsprays and other personal-care and household items. These painful and deadly tests are not only cruel but also unnecessary. More than 1,000 companies around the world have banned all animal tests forever.
Beginning in 2009, the European Union (EU) began phasing in a complete ban on the testing of cosmetics and their ingredients on animals within its borders, including prohibiting the marketing of cosmetics products that were tested on animals outside the EU. PETA is urging the Indian government to ban all testing of cosmetics and cosmetics ingredients on animals in India and to prohibit the marketing of cosmetics products tested on animals outside the country. PETA India's request to ban cosmetics testing on animals has already gained support from the Indian Council of Medical Research.
